    Admission Form  Beginner Class Beginner Locksmith Class and Test 2026

    Teaching will be on basic locksmithing: keys, knobs, deadbolts, duplicating machines, safes  every aspect of Locksmithing. You will be provided everything you need to  learn the Locksmith trade. You will be given  a hands on test and a 150 question on the 5th day. If you pass all your skills  and written exam, you will be awarded a certificate  that you will need to turn a copy into the State Board AESBL to receive a license for locksmithing. VSP Certification Class and Test for  License Auto Professional        8am-5pm For 2 Days

    Teaching will be on basic Vehicle keys, codes, NASTF, lishi tools with lots of hands on. You will be given hand outs and finger printing can be done while there.

    AESBL requires background check within ten business days after employment with any Licensed company. They have 6 months to take class and pass test.


    Proficiency Certification Advancement With every class you take with The Alabama Locksmith Association you earn elective points toward Certification. The first level of locksmith certification is Alabama Certified Licensed Locksmith (ACLL). The second level of locksmith certification is Alabama Certified Professional Locksmith (ACPL) ACPL has earned the ACLL, currently licensed, and succeeded in an additional 15 elective categories, with a minimum of 2 classes in automotive, residential and commercial. The Highest Level of Locksmith certification is Alabama Certified Master Locksmith (ACML).  ACML has reached the highest level of Alabama Locksmith Assoc. Proficiency Registration Program, with a additional 2 classes in automotive and residential and commercial. The sign up form will be added at the bottom of every class.     DormaKaba Lee Scofield: Friday 8am-5pm  School locks and Safety  This is a 8-hour instructor-led class addressing an ever-growing public concern for the safety of our schools. As a result, there are many products coming into the marketplace that do not meet the already established code requirements. In this presentation, we will take a look at what is available for security purposes that is code compliant and the concerns regarding those solutions that are not.

    Dorma Kaba Lee Schofield Saturday 8am-5pm Fire Door Inspection:  This is an 8 hour instructor led class where students will come to understand the Code requirements as stated in NFPA 80 (Fire Code), NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code) as well as hardware applications required to meet ADA (ANSI 117). Students will learn the intent of these Codes that are used to establish our International Building Code and standards that affect door hardware. They will recognize what opening components and/or corrections are required to have hardware comply with these codes. We will cover codes as they relate to the “Use and Operation” of these opening within facilities. This program will help both the novice and veteran to identify, and correct (with code-approved products) the most recurring violations of these codes in the field.

    Locksmith Pro Brian Suggs: Friday 8am-5pm Intermediate Automotive Locksmithing:   NASTF and it's function in the Automotive Locksmiths daily work. How to get signed up Key Codes, Programming Codes and the Legal way to get them. Auto Smart, Genericode, Code Machines and Tools Programming devices TCode, MVP, TKO, DMax, Dealer Tools, etc.   Using a combination of Tools decoding locks and impressioning to originate a key for at least  one Chrysler, GM and Ford Vehicle Hands on Demonstrations making keys to cars  Introduction to High Security Keys (sidewinders), Lazer Cut and how to make them.  Hands on Demonstration  We will make keys to several different cars that are available demonstrating all of the above.

    Locksmith Pro Brian Suggs: Saturday 8am-5pm OEM:   What you will need to use it. NASTF’s role in using dealer software. Where and how to get it.  Brands we will cover: Ford, GM, Chrysler, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Jaguar/Land Rover Time permitting we will discuss pros and cons of other brands. Lots of discussion and talks about the Nuances and differences of each brand we will cover.

    DormaKaba Lee Schofield: Simplex Certification with Free Kit: Friday 8am-5pm  This is an 8-hour hands-on class designed to educate on the many mechanical features and servicing these unique and versatile keyless locks. This class includes hands-on training on the Simplex 1000 and 5000. We will also review and highlight applications for the L1000, 9000, 3000, 7100 and 9600 products in todays marketplace. Upon completion of this course you will be able to: Comprehension of the combination chambers including identification of components, reading and clearing/changing zones, high security codes as well as troubleshooting Hands-on disassembly/assembly of 1000 and 5000 series locks with troubleshooting Identify all lock models, features and options Lock applications and more.

    DormaKaba Lee Schofield: Electrified Locks Saturday 8am-5pm: This is a 8 hour class to familiarize the attendee with installing and maintaining BEST Cylindrical Locks & Mortise Locks and will include review of codes relating to requirements and use, proper selection of hardware, hands-on experiences for applications, and options for adding features in the field. Upon completion this course you will be able to: Identify and review codes relating to requirements and use, proper selection of hardware, hands-on experiences for applications Understand what opening components are required to comply with these codes Review field options for adding features to existing hardware • Troubleshoot common Cylindrical & Mortise Lock issues and available conversions/field adjustments

    Seth Bloomberg LKM 10K Tuesday 8am-5pm:High Security Combination Lock Compatibility  - The LKM10K Lock Series is designed to work with any standard footprint combination lock meeting Federal Specification FF-L-2740B (Kaba Mas X-10 and S&G 2740B). No modifications to the deadbolt is required.The LKM10K Lock Series comes with a strike that surrounds the dead bolt for reinforced security. As specified four strikes are available for inswing, outswing & pairs of doors. Pre this class you must have had the X10 class.
